Laurel Ridge State Park / Maddi and Jeremiah

Every session has its own little adventure, but this one definitely takes the cake!

We were out shooting in one of my favorite wooded spots—beautiful golden light, peaceful paths, and all the good vibes. Everything was going perfectly... until it happened.

Right as my client was walking down the trail, a snake slithered right out of the woods—literally right in front of them! It was this close to being stepped on. Me and Maddi screamed (not ashamed), and I’m pretty sure our hearts stopped for a solid five seconds.

After that little adrenaline rush, Maddi and I walked shoulder to shoulder allll the way back to the car, but we were not taking any more chances. We made Jeremiah walk in front of us the rest of the way like our personal snake security guard. 😂

It’s always a wild time out here in nature, but hey, it makes for a memorable session! And thankfully, no snakes (or people) were harmed in the making of these photos.

Moral of the story? You never know what surprises a shoot might bring—but we’ll handle them with a laugh, a little scream, and some unforgettable photos.
